something’s gotta give…

So I’ve been quite terrible with keeping this blog up. So many things have happened since I last posted.

I am posting because I am pretty excited that I won tickets in a draw to see Rain Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk in concert this Wednesday.

So I am pretty excited about that. Date night bitches.

Next month is my 1 year anniversary at work – that is pretty exciting for me as it’s been 1 year since I have started to get my career on track.

(On a side note – I really don’t miss retail AT ALL).

I’ve gained alot of the weight (that I had lost) back – so I am a tad disappointed in myself..but I am going to be trying something new in the next couple of months and see if that works…because I’ve heard it works. 🙂

OOh on another note – we tried this really delicious new recipe last night – Balsamic Glazed Steak Rolls – it was super delicious!

We are awesomeNothing really more to report – personally so here are my ramblings on recent movies/tv shows that I want to see/currently watching/watched/etc

I am really loving Amy Schumer lately…her new movie Trainwreck looks hilarious. I am really looking forward to seeing that.

Also, because I am a dork and love YA novels/movies I also want to read/watch Papertowns.

Brian and I will more than likely will see Antman with Paul Rudd…because well..its Marvel…and well..Paul Rudd.

OH Game of Thrones has been crazy this year…just so much craziness…can’t believe there is only one more epsiode for this season :(.

Semi spoilerish TV ranting:

Also, Grey’s Anatomy killed off Derek Sheppard – which I was quite upset about. I bawled like a baby.  Goodbye Patrick Dempsey.

Anyways, i don’t really have much more to say so until next time – keep it real.

natureThe good weather is here!!! It’s about damn time!!

I have so much to to update….so much. But I am far to tired/lazy to do it now.

7 years and a Spa Day.

I just wanted to quickly post that yesterday was my “anniversary” with my husband.  Well, it was the day we began it all. (Our Wedding Anniversary is in August.

7 years is a long time.

We spent lots of cuddle time/nap time.  It was lovely.

we're goofy.

Last week I chopped my hair off…I was sort of bored. Haha. But I ended up having a really nice spa day – a massage, mani-pedi, eyebrow shaping, and hair cut/highlites.

I have never had a full spa day – and it was amazing!!! I am going to have to do it again!! So worth it!!

Anyways, Better Call Saul is on tonight – I shall go and get ready for that!!

Peace out!!

What Adventures Await?

My bff!

The Musings of a Monkieface

Welcome and bonjour 2015!

A new year is upon us and I’m looking quite forward to it. This time last year I was very sick. I had a mix of strep throat, mono and then thrush. January to March 2014 was a sad time for me. Granted, by not being able to eat, I lost a lot of weight!! But I was really depressed by the pain and not being able to do anything and eventually the weight came back.

At the beginning of last year, lying in bed with my new tablet (thanks Santa), feeling absolutley miserable, I made a list of goals that I wanted to accomplish in 2014. I don’t like making New Year’s resolutions because they never stick. I think when we make them, there is this “Gotta do it now!” mentality. Maybe we just set ourselves up for failure by making them. But a list…

SEX! Now that I have got your attention – it’s just another lame post about NYE! 2015 Baby, YEAH.

Happy 2015 Everybody! I am three days late with this post, but I’ve been busy with work, and being…mostly lazy.

We had some friends over for NYE – which was lovely.  I was in bed by 12:30, as well being 30 means not having the ability to be up past 11pm. Although to be fair to myself, I was up early for work earlier that day.

But here are a few pictures from the evening:

My new wine decanter! it worked beautifully.

Melissa brought her selfie stick - now I must buy one!!

I have some goals for 2015 (not resolutions per say):

  • On GoodReads I set a goal to read at least 15 Books this year.

IMG_20141229_173405I have the new  NPH choose your own adventure biography and the book by Amy Pohler “Yes, Please” plus I have started “Lucky” and a Mitch Albom book. So I think that’s reasonable.

  • I am hoping to save some money to go on a vacation with the husband, probably later in the year. So I am hoping that I can make that happen.
  • I would like to buy some nice stuff for the apartment, a new sectional couch, maybe a storage bench…so I am hoping to do that as well.
  • Lastly, I am hoping to get back into my old gym routine, and my go back on the diet that I was on – I’ve been terrible lately – I took a break from counting my calories.

Lately, I’ve been on a Gilmore Girls binge – thank you Netflix.  I was really sad to hear about the passing of Edward Herrmann. 😦

I am almost finished season 5 of Parks and Rec – such an amazing show. I will need to pick up Season 6. The final season is coming up in a couple of weeks.

That is basically it from the peanut gallery right now…besides working (and getting the god awful stomach flu a couple of weeks ago) nothing really interesting is happening in my life. haha.

Hope your 2015 is filled with love and sexy times!

Nothing like a good cup of tea…

Apple and Cinnamon Spiced tea with some local honey = delish

Apple and Cinnamon Spiced tea with some local honey = delish An oldies playlist playing in the background This Sunday is pretty cozy

I haven’t blogged in awhile ..and since my hubby is catching up on his Walking Dead I thought I’d pop in and say Hello!

,I’ve been a tad busy

Things on the job front have been really good. i am officially full time and doing some over time as well.

I am really super pumped about that.

We had our work Christmas party last night and it was amazing.

I bought a super cute H & M dress for 29 bucks, and it is super cute!

Super cute dress!

                         Super cute dress!

The hubby and I both got to dress up, have a nice meal, some good laughs  and have a nice evening..

We are goofballs.

                      We are goofballs.

It’s also super nice that I work with my bff. We had some great laughs. We played a Christmas Jeopardy game, and it was a huge hit. Bells were even thrown at the scorekeeper (me). It was pretty great.

On an unrelated note, I have temporarily stopped using MyFitness pal as per my Naturopath suggested.

I went to a Naturopath for my first time, to get a B12 injection and we have started a plan to get my body  bit healthier, and figure out why certain things are going on. ( I may possibly be anemic)

Another suggestion from her Includes mediation before I go to sleep.

There is a really cool App called Calm that I am using for guided meditations.

And so far it’s helped a bit. I love the sounds.

I also bought some Melatonin as that should help (on the nights the meditations don’t work).

I have also started a seed cycle – Pumpkin Seeds and Flax seeds are for the first 15 days.

I’ve been grinding them and putting them into smoothies I’ve been making with my (borrowed) Nutribullet.*

*sidenote* The Nutribullet is amazing!!

Another sidenote, I have discovered an amazing health food store called The Main Ingredient (as she suggested)

and it was pretty cool. I bought some delicious local honey from them and my seeds that I needed for my seed cycle.

Next month I go back for a follow up and for another B12 injection.

And then we are going to start on another focus on my diet.

Right now she wants me to eat breakfast (aka make smoothies at least with the seeds).

All of this is to help bring my energy up, so that I will feel like going to the gym!

I’ve been very lethargic lately, so I am hoping this all helps.

Other than that, nothing else to report.

Keep it real, folks.
